Calipari Adds Cousins to UK Recruiting Class

It didn’t take long for Coach Cal to make his first big splash in Lexington. As many have predicted (including yours truely), Coach Calipari has already started to gather some of his Memphis recruits and bring them with him to Kentucky. First up on the list was the 6′10 , 245 pound Center, DeMarcus Cousins. Cousins, who played his high school ball at Le Flore in Mobile, Alabama was ranked the #2 Center in the class of 2009. Originally committed to Memphis, he was let out of his Letter of Intent after Calipari left Memphis. Cousins wasted no time making a decision, electing to follow his coach to the SEC. Gifted with a terrific back to the basket game and the ability to face up, Cousins will be beloved in Lexington from the moment he steps on campus. He has a lunch pale attitude and is a physical as they come. Pairing him with Patrick Patterson or Daniel Orton (or both) would give the Wildcats an inside game unlike anything they’ve had in quite some time.

Now we wait to see what happens with the ongoing recruitment of Xavier Henry and Daniel Orton. If Cal can get one or both of these guys, Kentucky Basketball is officially back on the map.
