Flagrant Fouls Points of Emphasis !!!
Augusta National, The Masters

-Anthony Kim is making his Masters debut this week. Rookies at Augusta haven’t faired well historically, but this isn’t your typical rookie. AK won twice in 2008 and captured a mind boggling 8 top 10’s in just his 2nd year on tour.

-Past champion Vijay Singh only has one top 25 finish so far this season. Has father time finally caught up with the greatest 40+ player in history? Familiar scenery and positive memories should give us a better answer to this question. If he fails to play solid this week, it might be time to start looking forward to his career on the Champions Tour!!!

-Can Greg Norman re-capture some of his British Open magic this week? He held the 54 hole lead last year before finishing in a tie for 3rd. Greg has played in 23 Masters tournaments and has made 17 cuts, including 9 top 10’s. You just can’t count this man out.

-For my Canadian readers let’s take a look at local hero Mike Weirs chances. Augusta is all about wedge play and putting. Mike is known around the world as one of, if not the best wedge player in the world and his flat stick has been on fire so far this season. He currently sits in 2nd on the PGA tour averaging just 27.32 putts per round. Besides, the man is due for a win.

-The young Irishman born in 1989 is back in the American spotlight. After becoming the youngest player ever to win on the European tour this season, Rory Mcilroy (not to be confused with Tin Cup) will bring his act to the bright lights. He’s no stranger to big moments though, as Rory was the only player to card a bogey free round at the very difficult Carnoustie in 2007 (he was just 17 years old).

My pick to Win- Tiger Woods…Was there ever a doubt?

My Sleeper of the Week- Rory McIlroy

My dud of the week- Sergio Garcia….I just hope we get to watch him mope and blame everyone else when he comes up short yet again in a Major.
