Melo’s Three at the Buzzer Gives Nuggets 3-0 Strangelhold

Antoine Wright thought he fouled him, Carmelo didn’t care. He kept playing, rose up and hit nothing but the bottom, crushing the fans in Dallas and all but ending their title hopes. The controversial no-call will surely be heavily argued on Dallas sports talk shows this morning. No one outside of Dallas cares. Clean out your lockers…Book your tee-times…This baby is OVER.

Melo had 31 points but struggled to find his rhythm all night, shooting just 9-24 from the field. It didn’t matter, he made the one that counted. His running mate, Chauncey Billups, chipped in with 32 of his own on just 16 shots. More importantly he committed just one turnover and made 11 of his 12 foul shots.

Dirk Nowitzki was huge, putting aside the distraction of finding out his fiance has more alias’s than Shaq and exploding for 33 and 16. It wasn’t enough.

The Nuggets now lead 3-0 and would have to somehow lose 4 straight to a team they’ve now beaten 7 times in a row. That’s not going to happen, as the Nuggets will look to close this one out Monday night.
