Jordan Crawford Dunks on LBJ in Akron

I was on hand in Akron this week for the dunk heard round the world. Jordan Crawford did indeed flush it in LeBron James grill. I was about 15 feet away when Jordan "tea bagged" The King. It was a big dunk, but I've certainly seen bigger. The crowd got excited, the high school players went crazy, and then everybody moved on. LeBron remained the best player on the floor and Jordan Crawford was still a 6'4 shooting guard for the Xavier Musketeers. Everything was all good.

Then I got to Cleveland for the King City Classic and was asked about it by the valet at my hotel, then in the elevator on the way up to my room. After that it was texts from my brother and friends. Did you see the dunk?, they asked. It went from a routine dunk to national story just like that.

I'm not sure whether or not LeBron told Nike representatives to confiscate the tapes, because I never saw anything. If you ask me, I highly doubt LeBron requested someone take the tapes. He didn't seem that fazed by the dunk, though I heard World Wide Wes sitting with him court side later on in the evening getting in his grill about it, jokingly of course. Either way it's the biggest story in basketball right now, and thus I'm here to talk about it. The one thing no one can deny is that this has certainly gotten Crawford a boat load of exposure. For casual fans who don't know Crawford's game, that could be because Crawford had to sit last season out due to the NCAA rules on transferring. He previously played for Indiana under Kelvin Sampson. This week and that dunk not only gave him the exposure to become a household name amongst college basketball fans, but also gave him a chance to show what he can do and how far he's come to dozens of NBA scouts. It was a memorable week at LeBron James Skills Academy for Jordan Crawford. Now he needs to take that moment to the gym and prove to the people who now have him on their radar that he's more than just one unseen highlight.
