Achraf Yacoubou to Villanova

Posted on 22. Oct, 2009 by Nolan Shulman in High School

Jay Wright spent his first few seasons in the Big East conference making a name for himself as a top shelf recruiter.

Over the past few seasons, he has gained notoriety for being one of the top game coaches in the country, taking his cats on deep post season runs. Wright’s ability to master both crafts has made life at Villanova exciting, and expectations have never been so high. Nova’s incoming class is ranked as one of the best nationally and Wright got a head start today to his 2011 class.

Achraf Yacoubou, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard out of Lutheran High School in Long Island, has given a commitment to the Wildcats. Flagrant Fouls has Yacoubou ranked #49 overall in the 2011 class and #10 at the shooting guard position. Expect Achraf Yacoubou to continue building on the guard oriented offense that has become synonymous with the Villanova basketball program. His ability to penetrate, combined with his excellent shooting should be a perfect fit for their 4 out 1 in offense.

Why do these guards keep going to Nova? Aren’t they worried they’ll get lost in the shuffle. So many great players already.
