Dezmine Wells to Xavier

Posted on 22. Oct, 2009 by Nolan Shulman in High School

Xavier basketball hasn’t lost a beat since the departure of Sean Miller. Today, his replacement Chris Mack secured a commitment from Word of God Academy’s Dezmine Wells. Dezmine is our 15th ranked small forward and 60th ranked player overall in the class of 2011. Dezmine chose Xavier over NC State, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, and Baylor.

Dezmine is an elite level athlete capable of dominating the game in transition. He has a great ability to finish above the rim, and has worked to improve his handling and perimeter jump shot. He should fit in nicely in Coach Mack’s new system.

He joins Darwin Davis as Xavier’s second commitment in the class of 2011.

I like to see Xavier still getting recruits with a new coach. Hope they stay at the top of the A-10.
