Harrison Barnes is Officially a Tar Heel
Posted on 13. Nov, 2009 by Nolan Shulman in High School
The number one small forward is officially off the board. After months of speculation (none of it based on anything), we finally know where the Ames sensation will be playing his collegiate ball. He made his decision official this afternoon by skyyping coach Williams on National television.
Harrison is a major acquisition for Roy Williams’ Tar Heels. He may be the most complete player in the nation, and should make an impact with the Heels right away.
Some of the things that make Harrison special are that he can guard multiple positions, has an EXTREMELY high basketball IQ, and works as hard as any player in the nation. He can get down in the low block, he can be used as a face-up four, he can take his opponent off the bounce, has decent range, and is a flat out winner. He should help UNC both on the floor and in the locker room with his natural leadership qualities.
Barnes joins a stellar 2010 recruiting class already consisting of SG Reggie Bullock and PG Kendall Marshall.
The future is looking as bright as ever in Chapel Hill and this signing further seals Roy Williams’ reputation as one of the game’s elite recruiters.

Should have stayed home and played at Iowa State. Make an impact on your community.
