Richard Peters Pops to Washington State

Posted on 05. Oct, 2011 by Nolan Shulman in Canada Spotlight

In modern day college basketball, big men who are willing to camp out on the low block and go to work are very difficult to find.  Washington State head coach Ken Bone had one on campus this weekend in Richard Peters.  While on his official the 2012 CIA Bounce big man committed to play his college ball for the Cougars.

"The visit was great" said Peters. "I felt like part of the team during all the activities and the coaching staff made me feel wanted.  Coach Johnson and coach Allen came up to Toronto to see me which showed they were putting in the work."

How will Richard fit into the offense?  According to Peters, "They showed me plays that they would be running for me and said they want me to come in and be a force on the block, rebounding, and blocking shots.  They need someone at my position and my style of play will compliment their offensive and defensive schemes."

Richard is once again enrolled at Westwind Prep in Arizona and knows what he needs to do in order to come in ready to make an impact. "I need to work on my whole game, but will put a focus on Strength and Conditioning and scoring on the low block."

Richard chose Washington State over Marquette, Seton Hall, Clemson, and Texas Tech.
