Miller, who is arguably the top junior in the nation, did whatever he wanted to out on the floor against Our Savior. He showed off his super quick release from beyond the arc on a number of instances, while also putting it on the floor either way to take bigger defenders off of the dribble. When Our Savior opted to put a wing on Miller, he immediately went to the blocks and was able to score via turnaround jumpers over his defender. Defensively, Quincy showed no problems guarding both wings and posts due to his outstanding length and lateral quickness. He told us that he is still wide open in the recruiting process and is very open to hearing from any power schools interested, despite the rumors that he is a lock for Kentucky.
Quincy put on a heck of a show this week in Peoria. He showed off his tremendous versatility; a trait that has made him one of the top prospects in the 2011 class. Not only can he create his own shot on the wing but he also establishes excellent post position despite his wiry frame. Regardless of how he chose to attack, the end result was the same. Buckets. The most impressive part about Quincy’s game this week wasn’t a particular skill set, rather his ability to put QEA on his back and carry his teammates during big moments. This was especially evident down the stretch of the Findlay Prep game, when Quincy made big shot after big shot to keep the Pharaohs alive. They came up a bit short, but Quincy’s 31 point effort gave the Pilots quite a scare.
Although it wasn’t a great week for D-One, Quincy had a relatively nice tournament. He was very active, blocking multiple shots and helping his small team protect the rim. He was sort of out of position all week as D-One doesn’t have a true post presence nor anyone capable of guarding the post. He did a very admirable job being that guy for D-One this week. He also showed the hundred or so Division 1 head coaches his versatility, leadership, and desire. He plays hard for the full 32 minutes, helps his teammates stay positive, and is a vocal leader on both ends of the floor. This kid has the chance to be a really special wing at the next level with his ability to shoot, drive, and pass. He’s long, wirry, has elite athleticism....bottom line, he's the real deal.
