In Nova’s guard oriented offense it’s often tough for a player to really dominate night in and night out with so many hands wanting the ball and few shots to go around. Corey Fisher is the only real point guard on this team but often shares the role with his senior counterpart Scottie Reynolds. Tonight, Fisher defered somewhat and let Reynolds be the primary ball handler in the half court offense. Most players used to being in that role would cave when they play outside their comfort zone. Fisher adapted well and hit some big outside shots showing that he has range to 24 feet. Fisher has fast hands and really did a nice job on defense creating some turnovers and stayed in front of his man and made life difficult for the Maryland guards. I can’t help but see a little Kyle Lowry in Fisher and foresee Fisher playing a very similar style and game at the next level.
