Damion James may be labeled as a tweener at the NBA level, but it's just hard to comprehend when you watch him play that there is no place for a player of his skill set. This afternoon against UConn, James went 9-11 from the field and excelled on both ends of the floor. James scored out on the perimeter and banged inside with the athletic Husky frontcourt. Damion scored with back to the basket post moves, follow up putbacks and from the perimeter. James can rebound with the best in the country and he finishes offensive rebounds with both hands around the rim. Down 10 points with five minutes left, James came out of a timeout and scored on four straight possessions. James can score, rebound and defend multiple positions, as proven this afternoon. Last I checked, these are all attributes that make up a valuable role player in the NBA.
28 MINS, 9-11 FG, 7 REB, 3 STL, 23 PTS
