Evan Turner is somewhat of a hybrid prospect in that he can probably excel playing three positions in the league. Turner is a 6-7 point guard who runs an efficient offense for the buckeyes. This afternoon against West Virginia, scouts saw glimpses of a Scottie Pippen point forward. Turner used the hesitation dribble to change speeds and get to the rim at will against the Mountaineer defenders. When Turner didn't go to the rim he pulled up utilized his mid range game. Shooting off of the dribble seems to be Evan's forte and he is quite adept using the drop step and spin moves in the lane to free himself. Turner has great vision and a unique ability to create for himself or others from anywhere on the floor. There are many great college players that come through but not many have the ability to be as charasmatic, unselfish and impact a game the way Evan Turner does. The only area that jumped out today as an area for improvement is that Turner tends to over dribble at times. As his position becomes more defined at the next level this will take care of itself as he currently is the do it all guy in every situation. A concensus top 3 pick in the upcoming draft.
