Kiski Tip Off - Final Recap + All-Tournament Teams

Posted on 15. Nov, 2010 by Nolan Shulman in Canada Spotlight, High School, Tournaments

Can't remember the last tournament we went to where they showed us more hospitality than they did this week at the Kiski Tip Off.  Coach Darryn Freedman and Assistant Coach Steve Brodzinski treated us first class the entire week. Over the course of three days, we had a chance to see 39 Canadians compete at a very high level.  Here's a look at our daily recaps, our All-Tournament Teams, some recruiting tidbits, and which coaches were in attendance.

MVP- Sim Bhullar, Kiski Prep (7-5, 2012)

I know it's not a stat generally kept in basketball, but I'd like to find out what Sim's Dunk Per Touch was at this week's Kiski Tip Off.  If it wasn't one of the dozen or so backside lobs he banged, it was a tip in, or a bang out of a deep paint touch.  There was nothing anyone could do to stop him this week, and he made scoring 25 and pulling down 15 rebounds look second nature.

Recruiting Notes

Seton Hall put out an offer to all three Kiski big men: Sim Bhullar (2012), Stefan Jankovic (2012), and Tanveer Bhullar (2013).  Stefan also received an offer from Wake Forest yesterday morning.

According to Next Level Prep coach Adam Nicholson… Michigan State, North Dakota, Longwood, and NJIT have begun to show interest in super sleeper Marquis Clayton (2011).

Grant Mullins (2011) is being recruited by CIS schools such as York, U of T, Guelph, Bishop's, McMaster, and Western.  He's also had some preliminary interest from two Division 1 schools in Maine and Northeastern.  He's already visited Bishop's and U of T, and plans to visit Western at some point in November.

Coaches In the Crowd

Coaches from Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Drexel, Seton Hall, Cornell, Navy, IUP (D2), Findlay (D2),  Denison (D3) all came through the gym at some point throughout the event.
