Braeden Anderson Exploring a Plethora of Options

Posted on 14. Feb, 2011 by Nolan Shulman in Canada Spotlight, High School, Interviews

After deciding to put himself back on the market and re-open his recruitment, many felt that Braeden Anderson wouldn't remain on the board for long.  Despite those predictions, Braeden remains open and is still exploring his options.  "I love the options I have right now and things couldn't be better." proclaims the WMA hybrid forward.  "I'm just focused on getting better right now.  I am going to plan some visits and just take it from there."

While Braeden always comes across as cool, collected, and laid back, his recruitment has been anything but since being released from his LOI with Depaul on January 17th.  His call display shows received calls from area codes all over the country.  Some of the schools that have placed calls include Virginia, Oklahoma, Oregon, Stanford, California, Kentucky, UCLA, Georgia, and California.  According to Braeden,  "California has come to see me twice.  They are very interested and have offered.  Georgia has also shown interest and offered, while Kentucky and UCLA are supposed to come see me this week."  Anderson has 4 remaining official visits and hopes to use one to visit Cal during his March break in a few weeks.

While a decision looms, Braeden's current focus is on getting better and winning as many of the seven games remaining on WMA's schedule as possible.  He's using what he feels is a lack of respect from media outlets such as ESPN and SCOUT as motivation to prove he's better than they've given him credit for. "ESPN said I can't rebound, but I've never averaged less than 10 rebounds a game.  They say I have no back to the basket moves, but how does a guy with no back to the basket moves who can't rebound get recruited by the schools that are recruiting me?" inquires Braeden.  He noted that he plans to spend the rest of the season and summer working on his game and proving that the outlets that aren't giving him his due (FF NOT included) were wrong.

Braeden is currently the top remaining uncommitted power forward on our board and the 6th ranked player overall in the Canadian Class of 2011.  Check out these raw highlights from his time at WMA.
