Tevin got to the rim anytime he wanted and was superb finishing at the rim. He has outstanding body control and the ability to finish with both hands. What I liked most about Tevin’s performance was the way he demanded the basketball. He knew he could get what he wanted, when he wanted, and had the presence of mind to make sure everyone in the gym knew it. The only thing I’d say with Tevin going to the tin is that sometimes he has tunnel vision. If he learned to hand it off to the bigs at times when he draws the defense, he’d be unstoppable. While Tevin can make shots from deep the consistency isn’t there yet. If he becomes a more reliable three point shooter and learns to make plays for others in the paint, he’d be a no brainer top 50 guy in his class.
Tevin was tremendous in transition tonight, using his strength and IQ to get to the rim anytime he wanted. He has a tremendous motor and a great understanding of spacing in traffic. While he still needs to make himself a threat as an outside shooter to become a complete guard, his ability to get to the rim is way ahead of the curve. He's got a strong build, outstanding length, and quick feet; all the ingredients to become a lockdown defender. He showed flashes of it vs. the Milwaukee Spartans, now he just has to embrace and get it done. One of the strongest and most rugged 2013 shooting guards I've seen so far this summer.
