Khem Birch Back to 2011, Signs LOI with Pitt

After weighing his options and trying to figure out the best path for his development, Khem Birch has decided to forgo his year of post grad at Notre Dame Prep, and instead head to Pittsburgh next year. "I decided that the best thing for my development was to begin my college career next year" said Khem. "I'm going to go to college where I will be a 3/4. I just feel that I have a better chance to develop my skills on the perimeter at the next level than I do with another year of high school." Khem's stock has taken a huge jump after a summer in which he made major improvements in all facets of his game. He was previously ranked #2 in the class of 2012 by ESPN and #4 by scout.com. He was the clear cut #1 player in Canada in that class and will likely slide into the two spot behind Myck Kabongo in 2011.
Khem has already signed his letter of intent and is now officially a member of the Pittsburgh Panthers. He joins Malcolm Gilbert, Jaylen Bond, John Johnson, and Durand Johnson in a very strong class for coach Jamie Dixon.
