STOCK UP: St.Benedict’s Point Guard, Tyler Ennis

It's been a pretty crazy few weeks for 2013 point guard, Tyler Ennis. Since transfering to St.Benedict's Prep in New Jersey, he's seen his profile rise at an extremely rapid rate. He's had college coaches, scouting services, and local media raving about his poise, court vision, and ability to always make the right play.
From our chair at the scorer's table the Grey Bees offense seems like a perfect fit, allowing Tyler to come off ball screens, read the defense, and make a play. "When I first got here Coach McLeod explained that we were going to play a Boston (Celtics) type of offense. I thought right away that I'd fit in perfect. I like to come off the screen and roll and react to what the defense gives me" says Ennis. "Coach has put in a lot of plays where we have a lot of options, and most of our offense stems off of that."
React he did, looking like an orchestrator out there finding guys and putting them in a position to be effective. He came off screens, waited for the help to rotate, then found the shooters and cutters as if he'd been playing with his teammates for years. "When I first got here, the guys were coming off a loss and looking for someone to lead them. As soon as I got here, everyone knew I was going to be the starting point guard and have the ball in my hands. I'm just trying to help guys figure out their roles"
College coaches have immediately fallen in love with the pace and poise with which Tyler plays. In just two short weeks, he's picked up offers from local big east schools Rutgers and Seton Hall and is now being tracked by big time programs such as Florida, Kentucky, Georgetown, Marquette, Purdue, Northwestern, Oregon State, and West Virginia. He already had offers from Ohio, Iowa State, New Mexico State, and Akron.
The game of basketball at the high school level is as much about talent as it is about being in the right situation at the right time. Tyler's move to St.Benedict's seems to have been a perfect marriage for both parties.
Here are a few highlights of Tyler from this weekends Prime Time Shootout.
