Quebec Native Junior Lomomba Has Numerous High Major Suitors

Posted on 13. Apr, 2011 by Nolan Shulman in Canada Spotlight, High School, Interviews

While taking in the Canadians at this weekend's Nike Elite Youth Boys League, we couldn't help but gush about the play of The Family's Junior Lomomba.   His motor ran non stop, he effectively guarded three positions on the floor, routinely beat his man off the bounce, and used his superb second leap to do damage on the offensive glass.

"It's tough out here.  This is my second time playing in the EYBL and everyone really gets after it.  Every game you play you've got to give it your all"  said Lomomba, clearly exhausted coming off a 31 minute, 15 point performance vs. the NY Gauchos.   "Coming from Quebec to the United States and making a name for myself… winning two State Championships in three years, That's something BIG.  I'm just looking forward to working hard this summer, showing out in the EYBL, and getting better."

When asked what part of his development will garner the most focus, Junior was quick to respond, saying "I'm always working on my jump shot, my ball handling, and just trying to keep getting better playing the point and getting guys involved.  Just getting up a lot of shots.  That's the main thing."

His toughness, motor, athleticism, and willingness to do the dirty work has impressed several college programs.  According to Junior he's got offers from Cincinnati, West Virginia, Michigan State, Baylor, Minnesota, and more !  "I'm just keeping my options open right now and doing my homework so that I'll be ready to make my decision in September." proclaims Lomomba, clearly in no rush to narrow it down.

If he continues to play with the toughness and grit we saw in Hampton, Junior is going to have a lot more coaches on his trail.  Everyone likes working with big time athletes who possess a high motor.  Add in the desire to guard with everything he's got, and Junior Lomomba should blossom into a household name on the summer circuit  !!
