Lucas is the consummate college floor general in terms of being able to lead his team both vocally and with his play. A pass first point guard, tonight Kalin got all his teammates going before initiating his own offense. Lucas is deceptively fast but his use of different speeds keeps defenders on their heels and allows him to control the tempo of the game. Offensively, Lucas used a plethora of head fakes to get Gonzaga defenders off their feet to create room for his shot. When Kalin didn’t shoot he got into the lane and was very effective using his floater over bigger defenders. Defensively, Kalin has that slap the floor mentality and you can tell puts all his will into stopping the opposition. He slides his feet well laterally and doesn’t have much difficulty staying in front of his opponent.
