With regular Jaymie Spears unable to play, Kevin stepped in to become the youngest starter at this year’s tournament. Equipped with excellent vision and the ability to thread the needle, he had St. Mark’s cruising out of the gates in game one, running to an early 23-8 lead. He also took pride in his aggressive on-the-ball defense. Some turnovers and poor shot selection were excused considering this is just the beginning of his prep career. The seasoning he receives from this tournament and beyond will go far in developing into the high-major point guard he has been perceived to be.
Kevin has a chance to become one of the top 2014's on the planet. Aside from Wiggins, I haven't seen anyone in his class further along the curve. He is a great scorer who has the ability to get to the rim at will and finish with both hands. He's got great shot mechanics, and understands the difference between a good shot and a bad shot. He's also got great feel for the game, is terrific in the gaps, and likes to get in the lane to create for others. Kevin will attend St.Mark's next year in Mass.
